Professional Teeth Whitening

Professional Teeth Whitening The Priors Dental Practice

A bright, white smile is often associated with confidence and good health. Over time, however, teeth can become stained or discoloured due to factors like aging, consumption of certain foods and beverages, smoking, and poor oral hygiene.

Professional teeth whitening here at The Priors Dental Practice is a popular and effective solution to restore the natural brightness of your smile, and we offer several different teeth whitening treatments to cater for all lifestyles, from in-surgery procedures which will lighten your teeth immediately to home teeth whitening trays to slowly lighten your smile.

Here at The Priors, Stafford, we offer two main types of professional teeth whitening systems to give stunning results and a choice in techniques and prices.

ZOOM! (in surgery and home whitening)

ZOOM! is a power whitening system, which includes an in-surgery procedure and further home whitening. The process can only be carried out by GDC-registered practitioners – dentists and hygienists. This process is much more powerful than home whitening kits, and so achieves a fast result which can be topped up with the take-home DayWhite or NiteWhite kit provided, which your dentist will advise on correct use.

A specialised LED lamp is used, in conjunction with the whitening gel to speed up the whitening process and this means that teeth will be visibly whiter after treatment, with shade changes up to 7 times whiter! This treatment time usually lasts for 2 hours and In order to achieve the best possible results, it is imperative to follow the post-whitening instructions provided.

Opalescence (home whitening)

With teeth whitening trays hand sculpted to fit your smile, Opalescence teeth whitening offers a customised professional tooth whitening experience in the comfort of your own home.

Opalescence Whitening Features:

  • A customised teeth whitening tray tailored to your smile
  • Two concentrations of teeth whitening gel for maximum treatment flexibility
  • Convenient wear minimum of 1.5 hours per day or longer. (However, overnight can cause sensitivity)
  • Teeth whitening gel contains potassium nitrate and fluoride for patient comfort
  • Vegan-no animal products used

  • Certified kosher

A full consultation will confirm whether teeth whitening is the right choice for you.

Benefits of Professional Teeth Whitening

  • Safe and Customised Treatment – Dentists use high-quality materials and techniques to minimise risks. They customise the treatment to your teeth’s condition, reducing the chance of uneven whitening or gum irritation.
  • Improved Confidence – A bright smile can enhance your self-esteem, making you feel more confident in social and professional interactions.
  • Longer-Lasting Results – Professional teeth whitening results often last longer than those achieved with store-bought products, especially when combined with good oral hygiene practices

Maintaining your whiter smile and prolonging the effects of teeth whitening

  • Avoid stain-causing foods and drinks, such as coffee, tea, red wine, and dark-coloured sauces.
  • Quit smoking or using tobacco products.
  • Brush and floss regularly and use a whitening toothpaste as recommended by your dentist.
  • Schedule regular dental check-ups to maintain oral health.

Safety

The law was passed which stipulated that tooth whitening may only be carried out by dental professionals who are currently registered with the General Dental Council. We cannot empathise enough the importance of getting your teeth whitened by a professional. Online kits may use generic trays or strips the can irritate gums and damage enamel if misused, whereas Dentists use precise application techniques to protect oral health. Without this supervision complications can arise such as severe sensitivity, uneven whitening, or over bleaching (known as “bleachorexia”).

Naturally, our staff are fully qualified to carry out such procedures and all procedures are compliant with EU regulations. We do however require all patients to have a consultation to see if teeth whitening treatment is suitable to them.

Conclusion

Professional teeth whitening is a safe, effective way to enhance your smile and boost your confidence. By choosing The Priors Dental Practice for this procedure, you ensure the treatment is tailored to your needs, with results that are both immediate and long-lasting.
